Services :: Couple Counseling
Ann is experienced in helping couples at any stage in
their relationship - whether they are just starting out or
have been together for some time. She assists them in working
through multiple stressors ranging from affairs and conflicts
about money, sex, and raising children to issues involving
workplace demands, alcohol and drug problems, in-laws, health,
and job loss.
She recognizes and helps couples cope successfully with numerous life transitions, including having a child, job transitions, becoming "empty-nesters," separation or divorce, retirement, death of a family member and loss of a dream. If the conflict involves exploring whether to continue in your relationship, Ann can assist in clarifying issues around either going forward or saying goodbye.
Many couples initially are focused only on the pain in the relationship and are surprised to discover that they have strengths, which Ann incorporates into the counseling work.
As the couple progresses in therapy, she facilitates the development of a vision of what the couple would like to have in their lives. Couples often report the dream of this future provides motivation, hope and encouragement as they work to improve their relationships.
